Meet the hosts


ED LAND was active in the historic preservation of two buildings in Illinois prior to moving to Pennsylvania in 1999. His hobbies include construction activity, history, blacksmithing and antique collecting which led him to accept the challenge of restoring the Huff’s Church General Store into a semi-retirement business endeavor. He has spear-headed the renovation of the building and has done much of the physical work himself. Ed is a former news film and videotape editor who worked for NBC and ABC Networks out of Chicago. He is the proud owner of two Emmy awards and one Peabody. Ed traveled extensively covering major news stories such as the Martin Luther King assassination, the first heart transplant, the prison riots at Attica, floods in Salt Lake City, Utah and has traveled to Chile and Cuba for other assignments.

DONNA LAND was active in the Lisle, Illinois Heritage Society and instrumental in starting youth participation groups for the Depot Days Heritage Festivals prior to moving to Pennsylvania in 1999. Her hobbies of cooking, recipe research, antique collecting, decorating and other creative interests were piqued with the challenge of renovating the General Store in Huff’s Church. Donna has had a food consulting business since 1980 writing corporate cookbooks and publicity recipes for Crisco, Duncan Hines, many microwave oven manufacturers, the American Egg Board, Tyson Foods, Keebler, and others. She has taught numerous cooking classes, and continues recipe development, managing food-related projects and food styling for food photography and publicity releases.
