When the musicians are fed and finished with their excellent performances, and our Bed & Breakfast guests are tucked in for the night, or have left after their stay with us, Ed and I find some time to reflect on our good fortune to have this exhilarating set of businesses. People who frequent Bed and Breakfast establishments are creative, lively, full of adventures and always ready for more unique experiences. Recently a 13-year-old young man was here with his sister and Dad, and over breakfast we discovered his love of food and interest in cooking. Who knew a young teen from today's world wanted to know how to make Asian BBQ steamed buns? As they pulled out the driveway, I picked up my Fine Cooking magazine, featuring - guess what? Yep, Asian steamed BBQ buns. I emailed his Dad to run quick and pick up that issue. Maybe our young guest will came back for a cooking class - what fun that would be!

Ed is nearly finished with his blacksmithing 'fence art' project for our daughter in San Diego. The lattice fence has about 24 diamond-shaped 16-inch squares in it, so Ed has been firing up the forge and making blacksmith art to fill those squares. If you haven't seen the photos already, ask us next time you are here - there is a sail boat, a plate of Brussels sprouts, several types of flowers and other creative interpretations. Our daughter's neighbor came over to complain that they were making the rest of the neighborhood's fences look bad!

Thanks for sharing our house concerts and B&B with us - and for your patience while we launch some fun web site changes. I am working on adding photos next and a place to add yourself to our mailing list. Stay tuned...Best to you, Donna & Ed Land
